This beautiful XIXth Century château is ideally situated, close to the centre of a rural village. The property offers the château, with around 475m² of habitable surface over three floors, the former coach house, a stone barn and a former farmhouse, which contains a bakehouse. The château sits in its own parkland and its gated entrance leads from the village into the private park of 7.5 acres, to the side of the château, the total plot being over 9.5 acres. The château is built in the neo-renaissance style from local stone with tuffeau limestone detailing and slate roof using the renowned Angers slates. The outbuildings are all traditional stone constructions with slate roofs. Renovation of the property has been started, however there remains plenty to be done to bring the property back to its former glory.
Granite steps lead up to the main entrance door to the chateau, which opens into a large entrance hallway. Double doors invite you first into the drawing room with its fully restored original parquet flooring, wainscoting, gold leaf and marble fireplace. Onwards, the dining room also offers parquet flooring, wainscoting and a marble fireplace. The remainder of this immense ground floor is occupied by a kitchen, the utility room, a large office and a WC.
The authentic wooden staircase leads to the first floor landing which offers onto the four large bedrooms. The first two bedrooms have been redecorated and fitted with modern ensuite shower-rooms. The other rooms await their remodeling, while the family bathroom renovations are complete.
The second floor requires the most work but offer enormous potential with its six bedrooms, built under the eaves and offering spacious accommodation with good head height.. The cellars run under the whole chateau with large amounts of storage space available, plus the boiler room which will soon be fitted with air-source heat-pumps. Internally, the château provides many original features, with parquet flooring, marble fireplaces and ornamental mouldings which the current owners have undertaken to painstakingly restore where they have renovated.
