You don't need me to tell you that average prices for condominiums in U.S. and Canadian cities are insanely high right now (don't even get me started on the cost of single family homes). In fact, I conducted a quick & dirty Google search in Toronto, Portland, Seattle, Nashville, Vancouver, Miami, Denver, and Chicago, and the cheapest average was in the $400k range (with some as high as $700-$800k). With so many people looking for more affordable alternatives, I wanted to debunk the myth that European real estate is unattainable. In fact, outside of a few major budget busters (like Paris, London, Rome), Europe can be A LOT more affordable than most people think.
I know what you're thinking...And if I had a Euro every time someone told me, "Bargains are only in BFE, not in places people actually want to live..." Well, let's just say I'd have enough to buy about 10 bargain homes by now!
