Medieval Tuscan "duplex" near ski resort for €98,000

This quirky characterful property is a STEAL for under 100,000 Euro

There are some finds that I truly want to keep all to myself, and this is definitely one of them. I simply adore everything about it - from the flexibility of the floor plan (can be one or two separate units), to the dreamy skylight cut into the vaulted wood beam ceilings, to the multiple exposed frescos. The original floors and that alcoved sitting area with wood burning stove are *chef's kiss*.

I don't say this often, but if I had the money, I'd 100% pull the trigger sight unseen.

The Details

Asking €98,000

2 Beds • 2 Baths • 120m2

Location: Montelaterone Italy

The Area

The property is located in the municipality of Arcidosso, more precisely in the historic center of Montelaterone. Montelaterone rises on the slopes of Mount Amiata on a sandstone mountain overlooking the Ente and Zancona rivers and caressing the Orcia valleys.

It is a labyrinth of pathways between medieval walls, steep narrow streets and stairways that could get you lost among the various historical riches.

Montelaterone, given its strategic location, played a leading role during the Middle Ages. It was the monks of the Abbey of St. Savior who erected the first buildings and "Castrum" to allow the farmers and woodcutters to have a center of reference and protection.

Of this ancient village, it can be said, that time has stopped a few centuries ago.

From Montelaterone it is easy to reach Roccalbegna, Saturnia, Grosseto, Bagni San Filippo, Bagno Vignoni, Pienza and Montalcino.

From the Listing:

"The property is divided into two apartments, each with its own entrance door, connected by an easily removable wooden staircase.

On the first floor we find a living room with kitchenette, a hallway, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower.

In the hall we also find a small balcony overlooking the mountains on the slopes of Mount Amiata.

Going up to the second floor via the staircase or directly from the outside door, we find a room with a kitchenette and a skylight that illuminates the entire area with natural light; there is also a relaxation area with a stove and wooden benches and a large bedroom with en suite bathroom.

On the ground floor, there is also a cellar of about 37 square meters divided into two rooms."
